First international oil palm congress and fair in Ecuador

ANCUPA successfully held its first International Oil Palm Congress and Fair in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas and had the opportunity to participate with a stand to promote its varieties in the exhibition hall, and with two talks given by Carlos Chinchilla (spear rot in oil palm: the need for a comprehensive approach in its management) and Amancio Alvarado (Varieties of oil palm adapted to adverse conditions).

As part of the activities of this congress, ASD Costa Rica presented its products to fair visitors, highlighting its compact varieties (for high density plantings) and its Amazon (OxG) hybrid, as an alternative for planting in areas threatened by spear rot.

The summary of the papers presented by ASD at the congress appears in the following sections.
