ASD de Costa Rica has developed many highly productive oil palm varieties. We have been focused on reducing palm height and leaf length, so these materials can be plant at much higher densities than conventional varieties.

Besides this, we have also developed a new generation of compact clones (short stems and leaves) which will allow to increase productivity even more when planted at 180 plants/ha or even with these densities.
