The values given for the different characteristics of the varieties have been provided by our clients from around the world, except for the photographs which were taken in Coto, Costa Rica.

Most of ASD's breeding program is located in Coto, Costa Rica, a zone that is known for its high rainfall and low solar radiation, which promotes a vigorous palm growth. These conditions are favorable for breeding because they allow for the selection and development of varieties and clones with slow growth and shot leaves, without the problem of having the response masked by climatic factors. Along with our premium, special and standard varieties, here is also included information about the new varieties (seed) and compact clones (tissue culture), which can be planted at high densities.
