Inter specific hybrid E. oleifera x E. guineensis (OxG)
This hybrid comes from the crossing of Elaeis oleifera mother palms
(F1), originating from wild palms indigenous from the Manaus region (Amazonas-Brazil),
with pisifera parents originating from the successive backcrossing of an E.
oleifera x E. guineensis hybrid to E. guineensis lines. This hybrid
is resistant to the bud rots present in some regions in Central and South
America and can be planted at 143 palms per hectare (it has shorter leaves than
regular OxG hybrids).
