Bamenda x Ekona (Special Variety)
The female lines of this variety were developed in Costa Rica using materials from highlands of Bamenda, Cameroon (altitudes near 1,200 meters above sea level). The Bamenda palms tolerate stressful conditions well, particularly low temperatures. Moreover, this variety has shown a slow disease increment rate, mild symptoms and fast recovery, in areas affected by bud rots.
