Deli x Compact (High Density Compact Variety)
This variety comes from the crossing of compact pisifera palms (originating
from the successive backcrossing of an E. oleifera x E. guineesis natural
hibrid with exceptional characteristics to E. guineensis parental lines),
with Deli dura palms (Bogor, Java). The Deli x Compact palms have considerably
shorter leaves and trunks than standard E. guineensis varieties, so they
can be planted at 170 palms per hectare.
